CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Last Day Picnic
LANGUAGE: We encourage each child in their ability to ask questions, explain ideas, and carry on conversations. A love of books, appreciation of literature, the skills of listening, speaking, and pre- reading & writing concepts are all thoroughly promoted. Both whole language & phonics are used, incorporating the writing process.

THE ARTS: We provide ample opportunities to explore both self-expression and an appreciation for art, music, drama, and dance.

SCIENCE: By exploring and observing God's world, we provide a basic introduction to nature and the wonder of God's creation.

MATHEMATICS: A good understanding of numbers, measurements as quantitative values, and appropriate recognition of shapes are taught using Math Their Way with a hands-on approach.

We strive to offer a developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes:
  • Flexibility, spontaneity, and creativity
  • A natural progression of skills and concepts
  • A wide variety of theme-based activities
  • A Thematic and multi-sensory approach
Other benchmarks that are characteristic of Lambs are:
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment - inside & out
  • Maintaining a consistent daily schedule which includes alternate active and quiet times, smooth transitions, group activities and time for one-on-one interaction with each child.
  • Encourage and support parental participation
  • Accept children at their individual developmental levels, and provide opportunities for success as they proceed at their own place.
It is our goal to help children develop in a well-rounded manner, exploring all that it means to be made in God's image. This is why we make it our goal to help them discover and explore the following areas - engaging their mind, will, and spirit.
Kindergarten Circus
INTELLECTUAL: We encourage an active curiosity & enthusiasm about the world - promoting creative thinking; hands-on experiences; as well as problem solving.

EMOTIONAL: Our school environment encourages students to develop a positive self-image; increased awareness and acceptance of feelings (including the mastery of separation from caregivers); as well as appropriate self-expression.

PHYSICAL: We provide ample opportunities for the use of large and fine motor skills; continued development of coordination; and encouragement of independence in self-care.

SOCIAL: Another goal, is to foster a sense of self-respect and sensitivity towards others - by encouraging friendliness, sharing, and cooperative play - we help children become more comfortable in their interactions with both peers and adults.

SPIRITUAL: Our hope is that each child experiences the love of God, as seen through the actions of loving and caring teaching staff; as well as develop a personal awareness of God's presence and interest in their life.
